Global Manifesto on Human Diversity:
Diversity Management is an important factor for sustainability of an organization. It has now been widely recognized that a corporate culture that stresses diversity as an asset has a positive impact on the overall success of a business. The utilization of different views and experiences of an organization's human resources is necessary to be innovative, can recognize needs of one's clients and customers and remain competitive in the long run.
A benchmark study of Germany's DAX 30 enterprises shows that Diversity Management is widely established. Most employ a Diversity Manager with teams of different strength, councils and round tables. The largest part have signed the Charta der Vielfalt, an initiative based on French best practice.
Diversity Management is moreover often connected with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of an organization.
CSR (also often referred to as Corporate Responsibility, Social Responsibility, etc.) is another management field that is growing importance worldwide. In 2010 ISO published its International Standard 26000 "Social Responsibility". This standard which has been developed over a number of years by a group of experts from all over the world gives guidelines for organizations of any size for how to implement a responsible culture toward its employees, customers, host communities and the environment.
CSR will therefore constitute a separate chapter in this Forum.
