IDSS 2013 will be the second time that an International Diversity Management Summer School takes place in Vienna - 6 years after the first and very successful training event of the same name.

Back in 2007 the IDSS was still somewhat of a pioneering event. The situation has changed dramatically since: The concept of and the interest in Diversity Management has evolved and taken root in society and business.

Today, Diversity Management is integral part of most management studies and practice. We can now even boost of an Austrian standard on Diversity Management - an important milestone which shows how much importance is placed on this topic. Certification schemas and training curricula have been - or are in the process of being - developed. Benchmark studies are widely accessible. And discussion forums in the social media abound.

In practice, however, we still witness much pure lip service or insecurity when it comes to the implementation of Diversity Management principles inclusively.

This 5-day training programme aims to give participants a thorough introduction to the complex and broad issue that is Diversity Management.

Ideally, participants already have some experiences with diversity - either in their work place, social environment or their private sphere. But we do not expect any specific knowledge or qualifications - just a real interest in the topic, and the will to make Diversity Management a living reality in their respective environment.

After completing the training participants will return to their work or studies armed with solid and founded knowledge about background, tools, areas and dimensions, as well as lots of new contacts. All this will be presented by some of the leading personalities in Diversity Management in Austria, each of whom has different areas of expertise and specialization.

IDSS regards itself as a comprehensive intensive course, or point of entry into the world of Diversity Management: A field of expertise that is here to stay. And one, which no manager can afford to ignore.
